The Bar Specials Board changes on a regular basis according to availability and season.

Chef uses only the finest and freshest fish mainly caught in the South West Approaches together with some species imported fresh from farther oceans and the best quality locally sourced meat.

He produces a wide range of specials from traditional old British recipes to many European dishes that he has been introduced to on his travels and access into friends homes and restaurants in throughout these countries

Chef’s Terrine of Hare – Red Onion Marmalade   £6.95

A superb terrine made from local hares, Cornish butter, bacon & minced pork

Grilled Fillet of Fresh Local Gurnard – Fresh Mint Butter   £6.95

A little known fish of superb flavour here quickly grilled and simply served with a silver of fresh garden mint butter

Griddled Fillet of Fresh Local Turbot – Fresh Parsley Butter   £16.95

The king of all flat fish, superb in texture and flavour, here quickly griddled and served with fresh parsley butter to allow the flavour of the fish to burst though

Grilled Whole Fresh Local Plaice – Prawn Butter   £12.95

The freshest of fish, here simply grilled and topped with prawn & parsley butter to bring out the superb natural flavour

Fillet of Fresh Locally Caught Silver Hake     £11.95

A fillet cut from a prime locally caught hake here served the Spanish way with a delicate fresh clam, white wine and fresh parsley Sauce

Seared Fresh Blue Fin Tuna – Mild Chilli Dressing   £12.50

A succulent steak cut from the middle loin of a fresh blue fin tuna, seared on the griddle and served drizzled with a mild chilli vinaigrette

New Season’s Cornish Lamb Shank   £12.95

A shank cut from a plump leg of new season’s tender local lamb gently braised with a fresh herb, tomato sauce with flagelot beans

Cocido    £10.25

A wonderful Spanish farmhouse stew – local beef, chicken & pork cooked in a rich broth with local vegetables, chick peas and other beans flavoured with fresh herbs and saffron served with a hunk of garlic bread

Authentic Greek Moussaka    £10.95

Taught to chef by the Mayor of Skiathos – this traditional dish uses potato, egg plant, courgette & tomato layered with a rich herby local minced lamb & tomato mixture topped with a cheese custard & served with a mixed salad

Tagiatelle with Fresh Pesto    £7.95

Freshly boiled tagliatelle tossed in a fresh pesto made with fresh basil, fresh spinach, pine nuts, virgin olive oil & freshly grated grano padano Parmesan cheese and a slice of garlic bread

A family favourite – local steak & kidney braised with onions, herbs in a rich beef gravy topped with a short crust pasty lid

Eastern Dish of the Day

A home made rogan josh made with fresh local lamb, herbs & spices ,fresh tomatoes, coconut milk and fresh cream served with an onion & tomato salad, freshly boiled Basmati rice, mango chutney and a poppadum
